FindProof Privacy Policy
For FindProof – AI Answers with Proof
Effective and last updated: June 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FindProof ("FindProof," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the FindProof Chrome extension and related cloud service.
1. What FindProof Does
FindProof lets you ask questions about the webpage you are viewing, receive an answer grounded in that page, and jump to highlighted supporting evidence.
While the FindProof side panel is open, the extension reads the active webpage to prepare searchable text. When you submit a question, FindProof sends the question and selected relevant page text to its cloud service for processing.
AI accuracy notice: FindProof uses artificial intelligence and may produce incomplete, misleading, or incorrect answers. Always verify important information against the highlighted source evidence and the original webpage. Do not rely on FindProof as a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, safety, or other high-stakes advice.
2. Information We Process
FindProof may process the following information:
- Website content: readable text, headings, page title, domain, and identifiers that connect evidence to elements on the active webpage.
- Your questions and results: questions you submit, generated answers, evidence excerpts, and confidence information.
- Installation and usage data: a randomly generated installation identifier, extension version, plan, monthly usage count, request status, timestamps, errors, and basic performance information.
- Payment status: ExtensionPay session or API credential, free or paid status, subscription status, and trial or payment timestamps. FindProof does not receive or store full card numbers, CVV codes, or raw payment method details.
- Local session data: the current question, recent answers, evidence, usage display, and queued job identifier may be stored in Chrome session storage for the current tab.
- Network and service logs: our infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, request metadata, and security logs as part of operating and protecting the service.
FindProof does not access Chrome's browser-history database and does not crawl all open tabs. It processes the active tab represented in the open side panel. Because the active page's domain and content are handled, this activity may be classified as website content or web browsing activity under Chrome Web Store policies.
3. How We Use Information
We use information only to:
- extract and search the active webpage;
- generate answers and supporting evidence;
- scroll to and highlight evidence on the page;
- operate queued requests and show their status;
- maintain free and Pro usage limits;
- verify payment status through ExtensionPay;
- prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and improve reliability; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect users and the service.
4. Service Providers and Sharing
We do not sell personal information or browsing data. We do not use this information for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.
We share information only when needed to operate FindProof, including with:
- Amazon Web Services: hosts the FindProof API, queue, processing functions, databases, secrets, and operational logs.
- AI model providers: receive the submitted question and selected relevant page text to generate an answer. The configured provider may change as the service develops.
- ExtensionPay: provides checkout, subscription, and payment-status verification.
- Google Chrome: provides extension APIs and local or synchronized Chrome storage used by the extension and ExtensionPay.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate security or abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets subject to appropriate protections.
5. Storage and Retention
- Selected question and page context, job status, answers, and evidence are stored temporarily for queued processing. Jobs are scheduled to expire after 24 hours. Database expiration may take additional time to complete.
- Side-panel result history is stored in Chrome session storage and is intended to last only for the browser session.
- Installation, usage, plan, payment-status, security, and operational records may be retained while needed to provide the service, enforce limits, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
- Payment card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by FindProof.
6. Security
FindProof transmits data to its API and service providers using HTTPS. We use access controls and provider security features intended to protect stored data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Human Access
We do not permit humans to read page content or questions except when you specifically consent for support, when access is necessary to investigate security or abuse, when required by law, or when data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
8. Your Choices
- Close the side panel to stop FindProof from reading active pages.
- Do not submit pages or questions containing information you do not want processed by the cloud service.
- Clear side-panel history using the clear-history control.
- Remove the extension through Chrome to delete its local extension storage from that browser profile.
- Contact us to request information about or deletion of server-side records associated with your installation identifier, where applicable.
9. Children's Privacy
FindProof is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the service.
10. International Processing
FindProof and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
11. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure
FindProof's use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use such information only to provide or improve FindProof's user-facing features and for permitted security, legal, and operational purposes.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when FindProof's features, providers, or legal obligations change. We will update the effective date above and provide additional notice when required.
